You’ll take a central role in leading an effective, business-focused and responsive team of around 25, overseeing all financial systems and processes, and ensuring that accurate and timely management information is available to inform our strategic decision-making. Accountable for our Value for Money strategy, you will offer excellent professional advice to the Board on tax and accounting issues. We’ll also look to your team for regular management reporting, budget scrutiny, and consolidated financial statements.

Reporting to the Executive Director Finance, you must be a qualified accountant with at least 5 years’ senior PQE in a large (£50m+) organisation, and housing experience would be a definite advantage. Good management skills are essential, and you must be able to show that you understand and can meet the full breadth of responsibilities. As you’ll be an important member of the Directorate’s senior management team, we’re looking for candidates with comprehensive experience, ambition and resilience, who are ready to step up to a more challenging and complex role. Strong candidates will already have presented credibly and with assurance at board level.
