Zoe brings a wealth of both sector and specialism experience to EMA, having worked in the affordable housing sector for approaching 20 years. She has a broad range of sector experience with her biggest strengths lying in governance and strategy where she has specialised for more than 10 years. She has developed and implemented governance policy across a number of organisations, led on significant board recruitment programmes, developed board induction, developed board review and assessment processes, introduced board reassurance and capability processes, worked with boards to consider succession planning arrangements, carried out board pay reviews and benchmarking, competency and effectiveness reviews and delivered board appraisal and mentoring programmes. Most recently she has worked alongside the CEO and board of a substantial group to oversee the review and subsequent collapse of their governance structure.
Zoe also has experience of organisational restructure, amalgamations and acquisitions and has carried out a number of complex and sensitive investigations and inquiries. She has also managed numerous projects including the coordination of a bond finance and credit rating process and the completion and submission of regulatory reports and returns.
Before joining EMA Zoe spent over 11 years working for Longhurst Group, leading their governance and strategy function and seeing the organisation through numerous periods of significant change. Prior to that she led the East Midlands Region for the National Housing Federation working with around 130 affordable housing providers, managing numerous boards and committees, leading on regional policy development and contributing to a number of key national lobbying campaigns. Zoe has led numerous large scale events and workshops at such as the NHF National Conference and multiagency consultation events. Zoe has also spent a number of years working for the Housing Corporation where she managed relationships with both Registered Provider and Local Authority partners allocating large affordable housing grants and overseeing the delivery of key regional targets.
Zoe is degree qualified and has undergone further professional and personal development.
